Recovering connectivity in 30 to 90 minutes during network outage

This proved extremely valuable during the Rogers Communication network outage in July 2022. While wireless connectivity remained active, the end-to-end data path was down. As a result, most IoT devices across a large area of Canada were offline for a full 19 hours. For PharmaWatch, all devices that had Eseye’s AnyNet SMARTconnect™ and AnyNet+ eSIM embedded were able to recover connectivity within 30 to 90 minutes, by redirecting traffic over the TELUS network. Vital IoT technology behind endangered animal conservation efforts

IoT connectivity provided by Pod Group is enabling Remote Monitoring Ltd to support breeding programmes at The Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.

Remote Monitoring Ltd, which automates record-keeping for temperature-critical applications, has announced that it will use global IoT connectivity from Pod Group, a Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) company and the world’s first Enterprise Network Operator, for its latest product, which is now monitoring breeding programmes for endangered species.

The product, RemoteM, automates the record-keeping process using multiple nodes to record temperature in different locations, transmits its readings wirelessly to a base station, and then sends the data via cellular connectivity to the cloud. As a result, RemoteM eliminates the high error rate of non-computerised monitoring processes.

The RemoteM system was initially designed to monitor the temperatures of valuable medicines during storage and transit. As veterinarians began using the system for similar purposes, it became apparent that it could be applied to other zoological applications as well.

The system’s success with veterinarians caught the attention of The Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, which began using it to monitor temperatures in its breeding program for endangered reptiles and amphibians. Now, RemoteM is also utilised through the trust to monitor shelters in the woods for small monkeys.

Pod Group’s smart SIM technology is used within RemoteM to ensure the widest possible coverage by being able to connect to multiple 2G, 3G, or 4G networks, selecting whichever is the strongest available at that moment in time. Pod Group’s API is also used to integrate with Remote Monitoring’s systems and processes for remote management and connectivity of base stations.

Temperature monitoring is crucial for many use cases and is often a regulatory requirement, with RemoteM allowing for remote monitoring with no loss of connectivity, even when products are indoors, on the move, or in hard-to-reach areas such as thick woodland, thanks to Pod Group’s global network.

Space Technology to Grant 43 Million Americans Access to Safe-Drinking Well Water

Sateliot and GOSPACE LABS agreement will provide 5G IoT satellite connectivity solutions to private drinking water well owners to avoid contamination and prevent flood hazards with worldwide accurate measurement of water quality, water flow.

Sateliot, the first satellite constellation offering 5G standard connectivity from space, has teamed up with GOSPACE LABS, the space, telecoms and IoT hardware company, to provide standard 5G NTN NB-IoT connectivity from space to its MERATCH smart solution for water management, including drinking water well owners, in the US.

Currently, 15% of the US population, which is about 43 million people, rely on private wells as their primary source of drinking water. Supply can be compromised because of natural disasters such as floods or water contamination. In 2018, the USGS found traces of contaminants in 20% of US private wells.

MERATCH is an American Water Council Tech award-winning water management IoT solution, capable of monitoring the presence of contaminants in water by measuring pH acidity levels and temperature as well as water flow and its level when deployed in selected measurement points such as bridges. Once connected with a low latency-narrowband network, like Sateliot’s 5G satellite constellation, the system pings a notification alert when unusual situations occur, serving as an early warning system in case of upcoming floods or possible water contamination.

Monitoring water wells today is a luxury for the 43 million US rural inhabitants because of proprietary technology from legacy carriers which is expensive. Sateliot is the first satellite operator to leverage the 3GPP standard protocol, already used by MNOs and MVNOs for their terrestrial cellular networks, which benefits the final user with an affordable connectivity cost, comparable to teh terrestrial one.

Groundbreaking U.S.-Based IoT Company Begins Data Integration with USMC Maintenance Systems.

Armaments Research Company, Inc. (ARC) announced today a contract award intended to further scale its conditions-based maintenance platform for U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) crew-served weapons.

This new award will integrate ARC’s flagship product with USMC enterprise maintenance system data to gain deeper sustainment insights, create a seamless user experience, and implement resilient system security.

This task order is part of the 5-year, $60-million Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase III contract with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and General Services Administration (GSA) to develop systems for the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) project portfolio. JADC2’s goal is to connect sensors from each military service into one, integrated network.

The project expands upon Task Order 2 with the USMC, which ARC introduced last October. Task Order 2 focused on developing a turnkey predictive maintenance software system that empowers units to anticipate, plan and take proactive steps for events such as parts repair or failure before they occur, ensuring reliability and safety during training and operations. This platform will now be bolstered by enterprise maintenance data to better detect non-age-related weapons issues and empower end users to take action.

“The USMC has consistently expressed its desire for an integrated maintenance solution rather than an application end users must manage separately,” said Michael Canty, ARC’s CEO.

“This project represents a meaningful step toward building this weapons maintenance capability into end users’ natural sustainment rhythm.”

ARC adapted its state-of-the art, Internet-of-Things (IoT) sensor to crew-served weapons platforms to collect, synthesize, and communicate diagnostics for units to assess the overall health of their platforms. The data was used to develop machine-learning (ML) algorithms to detect when a component of the weapon may fail or when the weapon system requires maintenance.

Globalstar, has partnered with Globalsat Group to deploy a jointly developed IoT solution powered by Globalstar’s satellite network designed to monitor renewable energy stations located in remote areas of Latin America.

The initial deployment will include 23,000 devices throughout the region with an expectation of additional opportunities in the short term.

The energy stations, which are installed in remote areas, have historically presented cost implications surrounding access and, similarly, without notice of service shutdowns, have caused additional loss of time, revenue, and information. The new solution will allow clients to obtain daily data, including information on equipment status and energy consumption. Maintenance costs will also be drastically reduced with preventive scheduling and real-time response. The solution will also provide monitoring visibility as a means of theft prevention.

“This deployment represents a critical milestone in our expansion into renewable energy verticals in Latin America,” said Juan Porras, General Manager of Globalstar for Latin America. “Through this partnership, we are now well positioned to expand into other energy markets around the world,” said David Kagan, CEO of Globalstar.

Globalstar and Globalsat have been working together since 2019 on solutions in the mining, oil and gas, and government industries throughout Latin America. Development of this renewable energy project started back in 2020.

Fortunately, new types of predictive maintenance through remote monitoring allows early detection of future problems that can extend machine health and lifespan. In many ways, technology is also working in tandem with artificial intelligence. For example, while AI is applying forecasting algorithms to their approach to predictive maintenance, IoT is the technology that monitors machines and equipment, which is more efficient than the status quo of preventative care. It can also do so cost-effectively. A study from Deloitte found that predictive maintenance will save companies $630B by 2025.

Examples of predictive maintenance are expanding in the food and beverage industry, but an interesting example came to light recently from our team working with a craft cold brew coffee maker. The brewery was seeing inconsistent operations of critical steam boilers used in their brewing process. The ‘misfiring’ led to sporadic failures with other adjacent equipment integrated with the boiler. To address the issue and get ahead of any larger scale failure they installed pressure and temperature sensors, as well as downstream vibration sensors as part of a case-specific IoT plan. The sensors revealed rapid pressure drops and vibration spikes on a localized compressor.

Without the use of technology in this case, the coffee brewer would have never identified the true root cause of the inconsistent operations. Real-time notifications delivered from the sensors and into the cloud enabled the company to alert product staff of needed maintenance when the issue is occurring, which diverted any downtime.

Improve Safety with Remote Monitoring

When people discuss safety in the manufacturing setting, it’s not uncommon for people to imagine images of workers in close quarters giving each other Covid. While this is undoubtedly a real-world concern, when it comes to the food & beverage industry, safety is highly imperative to both workers and consumers.

With that said, these companies dealing in perishable goods end up being impacted in different ways due to the time-sensitive nature of their products. As such, supply chain issues have only exasperated this problem. In fact, according to the National Restaurant Association, over 95% of operators experienced supply delays or shortages of crucial food or beverage items in 2021.

Additionally, the data companies receive from sensors, and other IoT technology is invaluable. For example, monitoring temperature fluctuations within processing facilities and storage facilities are essential for food and beverage safety. These temperatures can directly impact the quality of these products. Knowing this and the impact of ongoing labor shortages, it would make sense why these companies are looking to take the next step and embrace what Industry 4.0 has to offer, such as improved efficiency and safety.

However, retrieving this data is one of two roadblocks that prevent companies from receiving the total ROI of IoT deployment. Manufacturers that lack remote monitoring are not only spending more time than necessary extracting valuable data, but they also end up inadvertently forcing more employees to remain onsite, which poses transmission risk and exposes these employees to potential hazards that stem from faulty machinery and other impending failures.

When failure is imminent, it’s essential to have a robust monitoring system that can send an alert to service teams directly and give a higher level of overall visibility into these machines through actionable data.

Unleashing Commercial IoT’s Real Benefit: More Revenue

While preventing downtime and ensuring safety are vital, when you talk to commercial executives in the food and beverage sector their eyes really start to light up when you get to how IoT can improve their top and bottom lines. The holy grail for powering IOT-led revenue gains is found in the data.

If retrieving data is the first roadblock preventing companies from achieving the full ROI of IoT deployment, the second roadblock is making sense of this data. While many companies in the food and beverage space rely on sensors, they can’t interpret literally the piles of data it throws at them. Some of these companies rely on PLCs and receive their data through a data dump download but having data for the sake of having data is not only pointless, but it also requires end-users to take time from their daily tasks in order to sift through mountains of data.

That’s why food manufacturers, breweries and other consumer goods companies that are making the most of their use of IoT are focused on delivering concise, actionable, intelligence data to drive productivity gains. Increasingly, ‘digital twins’, or the act of using virtual representation that serves as the real-time digital counterpart, is the way to turn data overload into captive data streams.

These captive data streams can easily indicate a deviation from baseline process behavior to predict potential productivity gains. This actionable data adds tremendous value to food and beverage manufacturers looking to give their IoT data a voice without the unnecessary noise.

For example, breweries need to rely on robust cleaning processes in order to bring a safe beverage to market. Boiler pressure and temperature, turbidity rates (how hazy the beer is) and clean-in-place-cycles can be constantly monitored from anywhere. With that in mind, sensors are constantly monitoring the efficiencies of various equipment including tanks, pumps, boilers, chillers, generators, etc.

So, instead of solely relying on sensors to provide tons of data on tons of equipment, the use of a digital twin can help convert all that messy data into actionable business intelligence. Furthermore, by creating a digital twin, these organizations are building a virtual sandbox to test production changes in a non-production environment.

Analysis of sensor data from vaccine storage freezer minimizes waste and promises efficient vaccine delivery to underserved communities.

The US Centers for Disease Control claims vaccine storage and transport issues are responsible for nearly 10% of the 65 million COVID-19 vaccine doses wasted in the US the past two years. To address this vaccine logistics challenge, the North Carolina Collaboratory and analytics leader SAS are using IoT analytics and sensor data from vaccine storage freezers to strengthen cold chain integrity and improve dosage delivery, particularly to underserved and rural communities.

Established by the state legislature in 2016 and headquartered at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the NC Collaboratory is a research and policy organization that taps into the resources and expertise of all 17 institutions of the University of North Carolina System. Among these institutions are several historically minority-serving institutions and remote campuses that host ultra-low temperature freezers that support more equitable vaccine distribution to underserved communities. The NC Collaboratory provided 63 freezers across the state, with a capacity of 9.3 million vaccine doses, nearly enough for every person in the state.

The NC Collaboratory turned to SAS® Analytics for IoT and Microsoft Azure to select, transform and operationalize data — without coding — from sensors across 10 freezer locations at universities, in addition to third-party public health data. The project monitored the impact of factors including temperature, humidity, vibration during transport, opening and closing, duration in storage and freezer capacity, while tapping predictive insights and intelligent alerting capabilities to identify and address potential dosage loss and regional vaccine shortages.

“COVID-19 created the largest and most complex medical logistics program in modern history,” said Jeff Warren, Executive Director of the NC Collaboratory.

“One of the most formidable challenges has been to protect supply chain integrity as vaccines are transported and stored from manufacturers to administration sites – particularly those in hard-to-reach, underserved communities. Our project with SAS demonstrated how IoT analytics and technologies can be a game changer in getting more vaccines to more people.”

Key pilot program achievements demonstrated included:

  • Temperature threshold monitoring that examines temperature trends that indicate deteriorating freezer conditions and generates proactive alerts predicting the time remaining before temperature threshold is reached, preventing vaccine waste and ensuring vaccine viability.
  • Freezer capacity alerting that provides intelligent alerts when vaccine supply is insufficient relative to virus spread in an area and offers recommendations for proactively reallocating supply to meet demand.

Supply chain expert Rob Handfield, Executive Director of North Carolina State University’s Supply Chain Resource Cooperative, has advised SAS on its cold chain IoT efforts. “With a cold supply chain, you must constantly maintain very low temperatures, as vaccines that exceed the limit begin to deteriorate in just five hours,” said Handfield. “The SAS approach seeks to create visibility and prediction into what is today a black box in the cold chain, helping logistics managers identify potential points of failure and proactively minimize vaccine loss.”

SAS Analytics for IoT is being used to tackle a variety of global challenges, such as analyzing crop data to deliver higher-quality food, improving energy forecasting to reduce utility bills, and protecting people and property from dangerous flooding.

PB Traffic improves traffic conditions and road safety with Internet of Things

NZ traffic management equipment company uses Pollin8 devices and analytics software with Thinxtra’s 0G Network to resolve expensive lost and stolen asset challenges.

New Zealand-based traffic management equipment company, PB Traffic, is using IoT technology from Pollin8 and Thinxtra to maintain road safety and optimise traffic flow at infrastructure development sites with real-time tracking that prevents asset theft and losses.

Established in 2009, Peter Berghaus New Zealand (PB Traffic) supplies traffic management equipment and portable traffic lights for roads, major infrastructure projects, and specialist operations. The company owns and operates 110 portable traffic light systems, each valued at over NZ$20,000. These have been deployed for the Puhoi to Warkworth motorway (NX2), Clevedon Water, Kaikoura SH1 rebuild, and other major infrastructure projects.

Historically, PB Traffic would lose an average of two traffic light systems annually, with some going missing while others were stolen by individuals attempting to profit from reselling the internal batteries. To reduce the risk of recurring financial hits of about $60,000 per year – and the threats to driver safety when lights aren’t present to control traffic – the company turned to real-time asset tracking technology from Pollin8 and Thinxtra.

Akshay Gupte, General Manager at PB Traffic, said:
“As well as being a lost asset, roads missing functioning traffic lights create huge safety risks. It increases the chances of head-on accidents when the light on one side is stolen or vandalised, and this quickly triggers significant congestion which causes stress for drivers and pedestrians.”

“We therefore needed a tracking system to give us full oversight of our traffic light systems no matter where they are, and the ability to understand whether they are working as expected. With Pollin8’s IoT devices and software plus Thinxtra’s 0G Network, we have a cost-effective and efficient solution that works beyond the standard capabilities of GPS tracking.”

PB Traffic has installed Pollin8’s battery-powered devices to its full fleet of signal lights, which record and transmit data in real time. The information is communicated over Thinxtra’s national 0G Network, and is viewed through Pollin8’s comprehensive web and mobile applications.

“Our team can now view life traffic conditions from our headquarters to understand how the lights are performing in every location, plus the benefit of adjusting the timing of signal light changes to prevent road congestion and accidents,” Gupte said.

In two instances where PB Traffic’s lights were stolen, the company worked with local authorities to locate and retrieve the systems in real time before they could be resold. Although the traffic lights lost power, Pollin8’s tracking devices, with a battery life of up to five years, continued to provide location data as they operate independently.

The number of participants in EM programmes on a daily basis in Europe, North America and Latin America amounted to about 46,000, 282,000 and 71,000 respectively during 2020.

The market value in 2020 reached US$ 823 million in North America, US$ 189 million in Europe and US$ 54 million in Latin America. The market value in the three regions together is forecasted to grow by a CAGR of 7.9 percent, from US$ 1.1 billion in 2020 to reach US$ 1.6 billion in 2025.

Electronic monitoring (EM) programmes was first introduced in the US in the early 1980s. Today, EM is an established alternative to detention across Europe and North America and in some Latin American countries. The electronic offender monitoring market is highly affected by political and societal changes. In the first half of 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, several jurisdictions in the US and Europe released thousands of non-violent offenders from prisons with electronic monitoring equipment.

Kerlink, a specialist in solutions dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT), and NetOP Technology, which designs and produces tailor-made IoT solutions for multiple verticals and applications, today announced their collaboration on a wildfire-prevention system that warns public officials when weather conditions predict fires.

This summer of 2021, 187,114 fires have so far been recorded across the globe, further underlining the urgency of acting on global warming. Extreme temperatures and droughts have fueled fires in Russia, Greece, Sicily, Algeria, Tunisia, the Amazon, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Canada and the United States, particularly in California, where the Dixie Fire has been burning since mid-July and has ravaged more than 200,000 hectares. The previous record was set in September 2020 with 138,680 fires, i.e. almost 50,000 fewer.

To help identify risk areas, the LoRaWAN®-based system combines Kerlink Wirnet gateways with NetOP Technology Forest Capsules that measure meteorological conditions such as humidity, temperature, CO2 and the concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOC), using built-in sensors. The long-range wireless device detects, collects and reports dangerous conditions even in very remote locations via Kerlink’s LoRaWAN gateways, while its AI capabilities identify likely fire outbreaks with their exact GPS location.

The system’s intelligent dashboard features an integrated AI layer, sensors with machine-learning functions, forest fire prediction, on-line risk calculation, smart live maps of terrain, real-time heat maps and alarm scenarios.

Octave Provides Real-Time Continuous Information, Speeds Time-to-Market, and Reduces Costs

Working in conjunction with Sierra Wireless and Sierra Wireless’ partner Linkwave Technologies, Aquamonitrix Ltd – backed by the resources of its parent company T.E. Laboratories (TelLab) – has been able to use Octave to develop a new remote monitoring IoT application that enables water managers to react immediately to nitrate-related pollution events, helping them to avoid fines, environmental damage, and reputation loss. The application also allows for near-continuous monitoring, so that episodic pollution events need no longer go undetected. Users can gather sufficient data to better model and understand nitrate/nitrite sources and treatment dynamics, enabling them to arrive at evidence-based, optimized solutions.

Remote Monitoring IoT Application Delivers the Benefits of Real-Time Data Transmission to Users

Aquamonitrix makes access to real-time information on nitrate and nitrite in water systems practical and affordable. Unlike existing real-time analyzers, the Aquamonitrix solution incorporates a separation step that allows it to analyze ‘dirty’ or cloudy real-world samples, without any loss of accuracy or performance. Moreover, because the sensor sits outside the water, it does not succumb to biofouling and is compact, lite-weight and portable. World’s First End-to-End IoT Subscription Service for Remote Oil & Gas Well Integrity Monitoring

Dutch satellite Internet-of-Things (IoT) solution startup, Hiber, today announces the launch of HiberHilo, its first end-to-end solution for Oil & Gas Well Integrity Monitoring.

HiberHilo is also the world’s first subscription service for IoT-enabled remote Oil/Gas Well monitoring and the company will be introducing similar services for other specific use cases in 2021.

There is a growing demand for remote monitoring in industries such as Oil & Gas to create more sustainable and environmentally friendly practices, especially with COVID-19 limiting travel halting routine maintenance checks. However, the IoT SaaS market in this space is nascent and lacks simplicity. Having already been one of the first firms to develop a remote IoT connectivity solution with the launch of its proprietary nano-satellites in 2018, Hiber identified the urgent need for readily available out-the-box end-to-end subscription based offerings. These must be designed bespoke for particular use cases, as well as being simple and efficient for businesses to install and implement.

The HiberHilo solution for Oil & Gas Well Integrity Monitoring is the first offering of this kind that Hiber will launch because this process is currently complex, time-consuming and expensive (costing up to $40,000 per field visit). Additionally, manual monitoring is prone to error and is often not conducted frequently enough.

Monitoring is critical to ensure that anomalies are identified early and addressed – this can include potential leaks which, if left unaddressed, can impact people’s health and safety as well as negatively impact the environment. HiberHilo’s out-of-the-box subscription solution utilises Hiber’s global satellite network to empower organisations to automate continuous annulus pressure and wellhead monitoring of up to 250 wells in a radius of 10km, even in the most remote locations on Earth. Pricing starts at $449 per month per well (1 sensor and a 5 year contract).

The all-in-one product is available as both a starter kit and in the form of an enterprise solution, both of which feature:

  • A pressure and optional temperature sensor to ensure accurate and regular measurements – organisations can add more sensors to the network if required
  • Easy connectivity anywhere, sending up to 24 messages a day or one per hour
  • Alarm and alert settings
  • An intuitive dashboard for desktop and mobile
  • Support both on-site and via mobile

Sierra Wireless today announced that Ekatra successfully reduced the development time of its new Industrial IoT (IIoT) liquid fertilizer tank monitoring application by 50 percent using Octave™, the all-in-one, edge-to-cloud solution for connecting industrial assets.

Octave enabled Ekatra to easily integrate IoT edge devices into industrial tank equipment, extend application intelligence to these IoT edge devices, and then integrate tank data into their cloud, allowing them to cut development time for the application from six to three months.

In addition to reducing development time, Octave has delivered Ekatra additional benefits, including:

Lowering Costs by Proactively Detecting Fertilizer Tank Leaks

Owned by large farms and fertilizer distribution companies, leaks from liquid fertilizer tanks – caused by corrosion, problems with their liners, or overfilling the tank – can lead to costs of $100,000 or more related to tank repair, lost liquid fertilizer, contamination clean-up costs and government fines.

Recognizing the opportunity to reduce these costs, Ekatra partnered with Heartland Tank Services, one of the nation’s leading providers of liquid tank construction, internal containment liners, and inspection services, to develop a new IIoT application. By collecting data on nitrogen fertilizer concentration, temperature, pressure and drain liquid level, the application would alert tank owners, operators, and service companies if a tank had a leak in real-time, and also automatically close fertilizer intake valves to prevent tanks from being overfilled.

Octave Provides the Industrial IoT Infrastructure Needed to Quickly Create a Smart Tank

In order to proactively detect fertilizer leaks, Ekatra engineered and built unique sensors. However, the key to success was connecting them to Ekatra’s Tank Monitoring cloud application. Each sensor is equipped with a Modbus interface and Ekatra needed to figure out the most efficient way to connect the sensors to the cloud. After determining it would be faster to buy an IIoT infrastructure solution than to build their own, Ekatra embarked on an evaluation process of IoT gateway solutions, assessing these solutions based on their cost, support for LPWA cellular standards(LTE-M), available cellular plans, ability to perform firmware and application updates over the air, and nine other criteria. Octave emerged from this evaluation with a score establishing it as the clear leader, leading Ekatra to partner with Sierra Wireless to bring their new IIoT liquid fertilizer tank monitoring application to market.

Octave greatly simplified the IoT application development process for Ekatra, enabling them to connect their Modbus-enabled sensors to the cellular network using Sierra Wireless’ FX30 IoT gateways. In addition, they were able to use JavaScript to connect the FX30 IoT gateways to their cloud-based IoT application platform in less than two days. Combined with Octave documentation and support that allowed them to quickly understand how to use the solution, Ekatra was able to develop and commercialize their IIoT liquid fertilizer tank monitoring application in three months – three months less they would have expected if they built the IIoT infrastructure themselves.

Liquid Fertilizer Tank Remote Monitoring Application Already Delivering Benefits

Heartland Tank Services has already deployed Ekatra’s liquid tank monitoring application at sites throughout the United States, with plans to extend the application to the thousands of tanks it services over the next 12 months. Already Heartland Tank Services is seeing benefits from the new application, with their team able to respond to tank leaks quicker, and fewer problems with tanks being overfilled.

The Proximity Trace devices are affixed to a hard hat or worn on the body with a lanyard and emit a progressively louder alarm, alerting workers when they are too close to each other. This enables them to focus on their work, rather than worrying about their proximity to another worker or potential exposure to the virus. The alarm can also serve to change behaviors by reminding workers to practice safe social distancing.

In the event that there is a confirmed case of COVID-19, an employer can conduct contact tracing using historical data captured passively by the worker’s device to identify who may have been exposed. Traditional methods of contact tracing rely on workers’ memories and whether they can identify by name other workers they were in contact with during a given time period. With more reliable information, companies can decide who needs to be in mandatory or precautionary quarantine per the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, and whether the site can continue to operate safely without the need to shut down the entire operation.

Proximity Trace was designed to support appropriate social distancing guidelines as outlined by government agencies. It can be used alongside an organization’s internal policies on social distancing and other safety guidelines.

Proximity Trace doesn’t use Triax’s proprietary mesh network, but rather communicates separately to a cloud dashboard specifically designed for contact tracing. The product is undergoing field testing and key feedback from early customers will be incorporated into production for commercial availability.

KORE today announced the launch of a new comprehensive managed services solution for Critical Asset Management (CAM), utilizing the Visilion asset tracking platform from Sony Network Communications Europe.

KORE is leveraging the IoT managed services expertise of recently acquired Integron to assist connected health and life sciences companies in the turnkey deployment of scalable asset management tools. Telit today announced a partnership with Cleantron that provides a turnkey, end-to-end solution for optimizing the performance and cycle-life of Cleantron’s battery packs.

The partnership is the latest example of how Telit enables solution providers in any vertical—including security, agriculture, retail, health care and more—to quickly and cost-effectively leverage IoT to optimize and differentiate their products and services.

Cleantron’s new connected battery pack solution provides remote monitoring of the battery‘s health, temperature, voltage, current and state of charge data, which are critical for maximizing performance and cycle-life. Users also can track each battery’s location, providing additional key insights into the status of high-value mobile/portable assets such as medical equipment, Industry 4.0 equipment and light electric vehicles.

Cleantron is using Telit solutions for its P4 Battery Pack—designed for use in light electric vehicles and industrial applications—with the potential for expanding them across its entire portfolio. The solution is based on ME910C1-WW and Telit OneEdge:
