Fibocom, a leading global provider of IoT (Internet of Things) wireless solutions and wireless communication modules, today announced the collaboration with STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, in launching the industry-leading smart home solution leveraging the Matter-compatible technologies, STM32WB55 and FG370.

It ensures the centralized control of smart home devices across different protocols, allowing smart home devices to interact smoothly.

In today’s landscape of smart home connectivity, one of the most challenging pain points is to connect devices made by different manufacturers without protocol barriers and enable these devices to communicate via the same “language” seamlessly. The STM32WB55 supports the Bluetooth/Thread/Zigbee technologies, which is crucial for bridging the smart home devices as well as ensuring the interconnections between the devices in the application layer, providing flexible approaches Bluetooth+Thread and Bluetooth+Zigbee. By enabling 5G communication of the CPE, FG370 offers the docking of STM32WB55 through a UART peripheral, enabling the device “commissioning” on CPE. The alignment has significantly improved and opened up the imagination of future smart home automation and provided a comprehensive of conveniences for end users to control the smart home devices in a 5G CPE without redundant setups.

Fibocom announces the launch of the industry-first T300-based 5G RedCap Module FM330 series in collaboration with MediaTek during MWC Barcelona 2024. Expanding the landscape of 5G with MediaTek’s T300, the new RedCap module series features incomparable wireless performances in high transmission reliability, cutting-edge hardware density design, and excellent power efficiency. The FM330 series is positioned to expand the 5G landscape to a broader range, covering consumer-level, enterprise-level and industrial-level scenarios.

Fibocom, a global leading provider of IoT (Internet of Things) wireless solutions and wireless communication modules, launches a new series of 5G RedCap module integrated with MediaTek’s T300 5G modem, which is the world’s first 6nm radio frequency system-on-chip (RFSOC) single die solution for 5G RedCap.

By integrating a single-core Arm Cortex-A3 processor in a significantly compact PCB area, the FM330 series are optimal solutions that offer extended coverage, increased network efficiency and device battery life for industry customers.

Compliant with 3GPP R17 standards, the FM330 series supports mainstream 5G frequency bands worldwide and is capable of reaching a maximum bandwidth of 20MHz, thus ensuring the peak data rate of up to 227Mbps downlink and 122Mbps uplink, sufficient to meet the demand for 5G applications with less data throughput while balancing the power efficiency. In hardware design, it adopts the M.2form factor measured at 30x42mm benefiting from the unique RFSOC solution integrated with T300, in addition to the optimized antenna design in 1T2R, which significantly saves the PCB area. Moreover, FM330 series is pin-compatible with Fibocom LTE Cat 6 module FM101, easing the concerns for customers’ migration from 4G to 5G. Furthermore, the module provides 64QAM/256QAM (optional) modulation scheme to greatly optimize the cost and size.

Fibocom launched its RedCap module series in the first half of 2023 and demonstrated the full portfolio at this event. Compliant with 3GPP R17 standard, Fibocom RedCap modules FG131 and FG132 series support 5G SA globally, featuring different regions and global versions. RedCap modules can deliver significant reductions in 5G terminal costs and power consumption. While inheriting the exceptional performance of 5G, it perfectly caters to the demands of high-speed and low-power IoT industries.

From the speed perspective, FG131 and FG132 can reach the maximum downlink peak at 226Mbps, and the maximum uplink peak at 121Mbps in a 5G SA network. Regarding form factor compatibility, the FG131 series is compatible with Fibocom LTE Cat 6 modules and the FG132 series is compatible with Fibocom LTE Cat 4 modules. Fibocom announces a regional version of FG360 5G module series, the variant FG360-MEA is designed to support the frequency bands in the Middle East and Africa, allowing telecom operators and device manufacturers to deploy the 5G solution in a fast and cost-effective manner.

Fibocom FG360-MEA is a high-performance Sub-6GHz 5G module tailor-made for the Middle East and Africa market. Incorporating optional 6 or 8 antenna configurations, along with 2 x 2.5G SGMII and 4 x PCIe Gen 3 on the interface settings, allowing customers to apply flexible hardware designs based on the diversified market demands. By leveraging the 2CC CA (Carrier Aggregation) capability with a bandwidth of 200MHz, FG360-MEA delivers an optimal 5G experience with enhanced speed, greater capacity, and reduced network latency for terminals such as CPE, ODU, gateways, routers as well as industrial and medical devices.

Along with the FG132 module series, the brand new FG131 series is introduced to scale up the 5G NR light deployment for use cases such as CPE, ODU, mobile hot-spot, and USB Dongle, etc.

Leveraging ubiquitous cellular coverage, optimized power-saving, and reduced complexity, 5G RedCap is gaining more and more attention within the IoT industry. The newly launched Fibocom 5G RedCap module FG131 series offers a high-performance and ultra-reliable wireless solution for application scenarios that are cost-sensitive and power-enduring. Packaged in LGA form factor at the size of 37mm*39.5mm, Fibocom FG131 is pin-compatible with Fibocom LTE Cat 6 module FG101 and FG621 series that allows smooth migration from 4G to 5G RedCap. Compliant with 3GPP Release 17, it supports 5G SA and reaches peak rates of up to 226Mbps downlink and 120Mbps uplink theoretically. With these key features combined, the Fibocom 5G RedCap module FG131 series delivers a new level of 5G network experience while maintaining high reliability and cost-effectiveness, especially for terminal devices used in mobile scenarios.

Additionally, the Fibocom FG132 series has adjusted to three form factor designs and multiple regional versions that align with customers’ requirements to accelerate the deployment of 5G RedCap worldwide. It is worth noting that these compact designs are pin-compatible with Fibocom LTE Cat 4 module NL668 and L716 series, and the dimension of FG132 (29mm*32mm in LGA form factor) account for only half the size of standard 5G module (41*44mm), significantly reducing the complexity of hardware design at the early stage of 5G RedCap adoption into terminals that shaped variously, for example, IP cameras, drones, wearable XR, etc. Moreover, the M.2 and miniPCIe form factors are the popular selections among manufacturing customers as both of them allow flexible connectivity ports while maintaining the compact size, thus making it easier for manufacturing customers to upgrade the existing LTE devices quickly without changing the hardware design. Fibocom SC151-GL provides a comprehensive smart wireless solution empowered by the Qualcomm® QCM4490 Processor. Fibocom Wireless Inc., a global leading provider of IoT (Internet of Things) wireless solutions and wireless communication modules, announces that the FG360 5G module has successfully received certification from another major US carrier.

The module is now qualified to provide wireless connection services under the US nationwide 5G network, and is capable of offering stable, seamless broadband connectivity to massive-data scenarios like FWA (Fixed Wireless Access), IIoT (Industrial IoT), intelligent robotics and telemedicine in the North American market.

Fibocom FG360 module is featuring on high integrity and reliability, designed to provide excellent 5G performance with up to 4.67Gbps downlink and 1.25Gbps uplink speed. Supporting global frequency bands & ENDC, the module has developed two versions FG360-NA and FG360-EAU adapting to regional markets. It’s worth mentioning that the module supports 5G Sub-6GHz 2CC CA (Carrier Aggregation) up to 200MHz frequency to improve the utilization of spectrum resources and ensure extended 5G coverage.

Fibocom launches the 5G smart module SC151 with a comprehensive capability to empower the AIoT industry. Powered by the Qualcomm® QCM4490 Processor, the module offers elevated 5G cellular and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity for AIoT terminals, further boosting the commercialization of 5G AIoT applications.

Fibocom, a global leading provider of IoT (Internet of Things) wireless solutions and wireless communication modules, announces the global launch of 5G smart module SC151 to enhance AI-based applications with premium 5G and Wi-Fi 6E experience and high-performance processing capability.

Based on the Qualcomm® QCM4490 Processor, Fibocom SC151 can be used in a wide range of 5G AIoT scenarios in the global market, it is an ideal wireless solution for terminals such as industrial handhelds, point-of-sale devices, body-worn cameras, PoC (push to talk over cellular), etc.

Compliant with 3GPP Release 16 standard, Fibocom SC151 adopts a high-performance octa-core processor that allows applications to run smoothly, integrates a high-performance graphics engine to allow smooth video playing and multi-channel camera input. In addition to select AI capabilities, Fibocom SC151 extends its 5G connectivity by supporting DL 4×4 MIMO as well as UL 2×2 MIMO, roaming under both 5G SA and NSA network architectures, allowing backward compatability with 4G/3G bands.

SC151 also extends its advancements by supporting 2.4G+5G WLAN and Wi-Fi 6E, plus DBS (Dual Band Simultaneous) to increase the overall capacity and performance. Benefitting from the Qualcomm QCM4490 processor and its 3GPP release 16 capabilities that enable international carrier support, there are five variants of SC151 module series to support regional frequency bands in EMEA, Americas, APAC, etc.

The module also supports multi-constellation GNSS (GPS(L1+L5 Dual Frequency Bands)/GLONASS/BeiDou), which significantly improves position accuracy in mobile scenarios while greatly simplifying product design. SC151 is equipped with Android 13 operating system in preparation for subsequent OS upgrades in the future. With a rich set of interfaces including MIPI/ USB/ UART/ SPI/ I2C, etc., enabling flexibility and ease of integration to meet various application demands of the AIoT industry.
