Sprint Teams with Trimble to Deliver Fleet Management Services to General Services Administration

Sprint today announced that it is teaming with Trimble to provide U.S. government agencies a broad range of fleet management capabilities and solutions as part of a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) awarded by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).

The BPA will be administered by GSA Fleet, which provides fleet management services to more than 75 participating federal agencies. With more than 217,000 vehicles, GSA Fleet manages one of the largest non-tactical federal fleets in the U.S. government.

Trimble’s solutions will provide vehicle monitoring, diagnostics, driver safety and identification services. Sprint provides secure, reliable connectivity for these solutions. Together, Trimble and Sprint solutions will enable agencies to reduce operating costs, manage mileage, reduce idle time and emissions, and improve safety.

For many agencies, the business case of moving to a fleet management solution is tied to lowering fuel costs,” said Bill White, vice president of Sprint Federal. “Sprint’s leadership as both a green technology provider and user closely ties the success of this program to the company’s core values.

Trimble is a best-in-class provider of fleet management solutions to a broad range of industries with a breadth of experience worldwide,” said Isaac Negusse, client executive for GSA at Sprint. “Trimble’s product portfolio and long-standing customer service is unmatched with significant advantages for agencies looking to improve productivity, reduce cost and green their fleets.

Trimble is a preferred partner with Sprint in the machine-to-machine marketplace for fleet management. Partner offerings bring additional specialized capabilities to Sprint’s broad-based M2M portfolio, including solutions in the fast-growing segments of connected transportation, fixed and portable solutions, SmartGrid and utilities, and healthcare.

Sprint M2M solutions wirelessly connect a rapidly proliferating variety of electronic devices to enable increased operational efficiencies for business, as well as innovative new consumer and commercial services. Those devices are as varied as digital billboards, medical equipment, cameras, video surveillance and security solutions, remote sensors, utility meters, appliances and routers.
